Lightweight indeed.
As described it is very lightweight. It is so easy to push my grandmother in this wheelchair. My family and I love how it easily folds in half for storage. It does not take up a lot of space when folded in half. The material of this wheelchair is wonderful too. Super strong and feels secure for my 200 plus lbs grandmother. It is not bulky. Definitely should buy if you need a lightweight yet strong wheelchair.

Lightest transport wheelchair
This is the lightest transport wheelchair I could find. My husband's regular wheelchair is too heavy for me to lift into the car with disassembling it. This is perfect for trips to the doctor and dentist where he won't be sitting long.

Amazing chair for price paid!
I had spent a good 16 hours, if not more, on the internet searching for a transport chair I could handle (lift) with my bad back, and was affordable. I am 77 with a diagnosis of spinal stenosis. There was no way I could port around, taking in and out of a car or van, a full size wheelchair. I do have a regular wheelchair and it weighs close to 50 pounds. Trying to lift this chair by myself in and out of my trunk or cargo area of my SUV was impossible for me to do without assistance. I travel fairly frequently both domestic and internationally and have a traveling companion with me to assist with pushing the chair. My traveling companion however, lives 1800 miles from me. I usually fly to meet him and we then leave from his house to destinations all over the world. My biggest challenge right now is getting to his house from mine. I live in the rural Midwest, and 110 miles from the closest airport I can fly out of. So I must have the ability to transport a chair from my house to the airport and in some cases going through 1 or 2 connecting airports, requiring me to claim my luggage and then recheck the luggage, at times including my checked chair, for the next leg of my trip. This was a daunting task while dealing with a 50 pound wheelchair. Ain’t going to happen where I am now at, with limited mobility and lifting strength.Along came the Medline Ultralight chair. When they say ultralight, 15 lbs., they are not kidding. Absolutely no problem for me to first getting the chair into my car and van and back out to check in at the airport, as well as a checked bag and carryon. After getting to an airport shuttle with chair and bags and arrive at the airport for check in, I easily open the chair and set it up for being pushed. With the chair aiding me to take my luggage and the chair to check in, it becomes an easy task to get to my flight from there. At the counter, I take my bags out of the chair, fold up the chair for transport and check it as luggage along with my bag. I then wait for my airline wheelchair assistance that takes me and my carryon to the gate. Once at my destination, using airline wheelchair assistance again, get wheeled to bag claim, meet my travel assistant at bag claim, pick up my checked bag and the chair and we head off to our next adventure.I cannot tell you how well this chair is constructed and so easy to unfold and fold up for transport. I am still amazed at the light weight of the chair, and yet how well constructed and sturdy it is at the same time. I was skeptical about how sturdy the chair may be, but it is solid as a rock and very comfortable to sit in. Nothing looks or feels cheap about this chair. After taking this chair out of the box it came in, it took no more then 10 minutes to have the chair completely put together and ready for transport use. I could not have been more pleased with the purchase of the Medline Ultralight transport chair. I am sure you will be pleased as well if you purchase this chair. And if you do, wishing you and your new chair happy travels.

This is a
This is not for the patient to use alone, due to brake location. It is a transport wheelchair. It may also have trouble with curbs. We bought the chair because it is lightweight for moving in and out of a vehicle. We are going out of town with luggage and 2 walkers and my husband decided he also needed a wheelchair. His old harbor freight wheelchair is not in good shape and is heavy and unwieldy, so we bought one to push him around and let him push it briefly, only if needed and supervised by a steady adult ( instead of bringing his walker AND a wheelchair). The wheelchair is very light and the handles fold down to make it easier for the chair to fold into a trunk or to stand in an SUV or minivan. The footrests detatch easily also and are easily replaced on the chair. My husband says that the chair is comfortable. He does keep reaching for brakes and asking about brakes. His last wheelchair had the brakes for him to just reach down and activate ( they were not very good brakes, but they were there). This is a transport wheelchair and the brakes are activated by the transporter, who must be able to reach down to the small wheel and manipulate them. The rear wheels are not much larger than thefront wheels. I backed the chair over a normal room thresh hold. I have not tried a real curb or such yet, but I expect more difficulty than with a wheelchair with big wheels. This wheelchair is expected to meet our purpose, but may not be right for everyone.

AWESOME CHAIR!
I bought this for my husband who is rapidly losing his ability to walk. I had purchased another “portable” one, which turned out to be anything but portable! This chair is wonderful! It’s light, but he feels safe in it and I can easily fold and lift it into the car. It’s light enough for this old lady to take her husband on walks that he soon may not be able to remember. And I got it on sale! WIN WIN🎉

A great new ride!
My dad would be so surprised! My dear husband needed a wheelchair that could fold up to go places in our new SUV. I put this together myself in about 10 minutes, and I didn't even cuss! At 77 years old, with no special tools, I was so pleased. It works very smoothly, has a cupholder and little storage bunch of pockets on the back, and the red color matches our new car! If we had to have a wheelchair, this is a great option!

Love this chair!!
Highly recommend this chair!!! It’s so much easier than a wheelchair - it’s lighter and easier to maneuver. The patient is taller and heavier (220 pounds) than me, but this chair makes moving him around very simple. 10 STARS!!
