Works sealing cork and paper gaskets, holding rubber or silicone gaskets in place, or even laying a thick bead to “form a gasket” acting as an adhesive and a sealant. best example i can give is the intake manifold gaskets on the original small block chevy, (not the LS motor of today) it had a rubber gasket at each end that were notorious for blowing out due to excess crank case pressure. throw those gaskets away, lay a ¼ inch tall bead of this across the front and back of the block where the intake sits, set the intake down on it, wipe away the excess that squishes out, and it’s sealed for life. get it on your hands? let it dry and it peels right off
