Can't get enough

Has to be one of my favourite Coldplay albums, I've now apart from two got all there albums, and this just shines for me, human heart is one of my all time favourites, I first got into Coldplay when my daughter was born, after seeing her born I was driving home, turned on the radio and the first song on was yellow, which summed up all my feelings I had at that moment, thank you Coldplay.

Coldplay continue to experiment.

Wow it is almost two days since release and there are no reviews yet. I have read the two and almost grudgingly given three star reviews in the press. I have been listening to music of the spheres on repeat and must say that I find it to be a grower. If you are looking for a return to the wonderful melancholy of Parachutes then this is not that. This is Coldplay moving on to the next album after Everyday life. There is pop and I can fully understand the press likening it to U2 in the 90's searching for the new sound but like U2 I think you really do have to consider that they are damned if they stay the same and damned if they move on. This is for me an interesting album which I will keep playing. It is certainly different to the Coldplay of the past but if you give it a chance you may just find yourself singing along as you have in the past.

A partial return to form by Coldplay

After the very disappointing "Everyday Life" - an album I never bought after 7 or 8 listens via a well known free streaming app - "Music Of The Spheres" represents a partial return to form by Coldplay. Here is a track by track review:Track 1 - 50 odd seconds of ambient sounds, pleasant enough but basically paddingHigher Power - the first single, not bad, would sit easily on "Mylo Xyloto" or "A Head Full Of Dreams"Humankind - another reasonable trackTrack 4 - ditto track 1Let Somebody Go - a passable if slightly dull duet, though Selena Gomez has a reasonable voice and is very easy on the eyeTrack 6 - pretty grim stuffPeople Of The Pride - a stomp which sounds at times like a poor man's Muse trackBiutyful - immensely annoying vocals on this oneTrack 9 - 20 seconds of paddingMy Universe - starts off sounding like a decent pop anthem, but ruined by a Korean boy bandTrack 11 - synth noodling, electronic drum beats and sampled (I assume) chanting, more paddingColoratura - the best track by a mile, though comparisons with the mighty Pink Floyd are unfairSo as I said, this album is a partial return to form by the band. But it's amazing to think that Coldplay once produced an album as brilliant as "A Rush Of Blood To The Head". I think that Chris Martin's best days as a songwriter are long gone.
