Quality frame kit - just add screen and minor surgery
Looks more daunting than it is to build a screen from scratch. The frame pieces in this kit made of quite sturdy aluminum with a surprisingly good white finish.Make sure you pay attention to your measurements and the instructions on how to trim the frame to size. I suggest you painters tape your trimed and assembled frame to TEST FIT to your application before you install the screen fabric. That way if you have to trim further, you can easily disassemble and correct the dimensions.Don't sweat the loose fitting plastic insert corners as the screen fabric will hold everything together in the end. Use a fine tooth hacksaw to cut the frame pieces straight as using a power saw will 'melt' the aluminum and collapse the channels which you need to insert the corners and spline. The spline included in this kit is thicker than usual, and it's cut into 4 pieces. Ok on both points, but take your time rolling the spline into the channel as my spine tool wanted to 'walk off' into the screen, i.e. control your roll. Make sure you cut the spline ends so they don't overshoot the stops ( little plastic dots) moulded into the corners.Note this is a big kit. You should use a brace piece half way up your screen to prevent the screen fabric from flapping itself loose, but it not supplied in this kit. Although they give you the part number for the cross brace, and recommend you use it, GOOD LUCK trying to find it at a reasonable bottom line price. I found a few with a Google search but the sellers wanted $40+ to ship it- expensive to ship a 5 foot tube.

Great screen frame kit
If you live in a manufactured home and need to replace a window screen, this is probably what you are looking for. This is a great kit that will give you an end result that is equivalent in quality and appearance to what you are replacing.NOTE: The frame is 5/16" thick x 3/4" wide. This is important. Measure your old frame.Pros:• Easy to assemble• Aluminum frame pieces are easily cut to size.Cons:• You'll need to buy a spline tool• Aluminum frame pieces bend easily• Some may not care for the pre-cut spline• Spring retainer clips are NOT INCLUDED• Lift tabs are NOT INCLUDED• Screen material is NOT INCLUDEDSome tips for installation:• Don't forget to factor in the exposed part of the corner connectors when measuring for your cuts.• Use a miter box to cut the frame pieces, if you have one. It will keep your cuts straight. You can cut right through the spline, by the way. That's what the factory does.• Size your completed screen frame to be 1/8" smaller than the opening. Assemble the frame with retainer clips, check the fit, then cut more if need be. Remember, you can take away frame material, but you can't add it back.• Use a piece of sandpaper, emery cloth or a metal file to debur the cut ends. Corner connectors will fit better.• Make sure the retainer clips are in place on one of the long sides before inserting the corresponding corner pieces• Build the frame and check the fit, THEN install the material if everything checks out.• Before installing the screen and spline, make sure you have the lift tabs in place. Lift tabs should be installed opposite the retainer clips.• During assembling, keep the frame flat on a horizontal work surface. Do not place the frame members perpendicular to that surface or the floor for the purpose of gaining leverage. You'll just end up bending the frame and breaking the plastic corner connectors.• If you are working with fiberglass screen material, buy a plastic spline roller, even if you already have a steel spline roller. I didn't and I wish I had.• Don't reuse rusted retainer clips or plastic lift tabs from your old screens. Buy new, if possible.

Perfect for what I needed!
I wanted to make reusable winterizing plastic inserts for my 90 year old home, and these are perfect for what I needed! Since they don't come with the screen material, you can easily swap in thick plastic instead, and since the pieces are meant to be cut to custom fit, I didn't have to worry about my old windows being non-standard sizes. I will be ordering more - one for every window!Edit: They only let you buy a limited quantity, and since I have a whole house to do, I'll be buying a similar product elsewhere.

Very light weight aluminum, bends easily
I purchased the 60" kit to replace a 33" x 60" screen that was broken. The kit is OK but lack the pull tabs and spring clips that were on by old screen (sold separate from this kit). Luckily I was able to reuse the tabs and clips from my old screen. My only complaint is that the metal is too thin and flexible. I assembled the screen and the 60" side flex too much and bend inward. Even though the screen material has slack the side won't stay straight.

Screen frame, corners and spline
We ordered more than one from the company; the product arrived promptly and in good condition; the instructions are clear; the frame is sturdy enough assembled- to hold a mid grade solar screen; the spline didn't that came with the frame only works with regular screening material. We purchased other spline at the hardware store. Screening not included.
