Honestly I got these as an in the meantime solution while waiting for payday to order the fancy electric one.Forget that, these work great. In fact my issue is in the day, with the doors open flies buzz in and out all day long, (not any more!). The electric ones depend on light attraction only so I guess they work better at night.I read reviews saying these are difficult to open/unravel. Accept two fingers will get sticky, hold the top firmly and unravel slowly twisting as you go and it's easy.I fastened with a safety pin to my light fitting as I didn't want holes in my ceiling from the tac.It's quite long so I ended up cutting the next one in half and hanging the other end in another room.The only downside is it's ugly but the only flies I have now are dead or dying so I forfeit pretty. This picture was from day one, it arrived afternoon so maybe 6 hours up. You could leave it in place quite a few days. I put one piece on the outside porch which I've left up a week so far and is still catching flies. I think that's stopping them come in the house too and the living room is now just catching the stragglers. This one I change more often as it looks gross

Super super sticky
These are brilliant and are really sticky would advise using rubber gloves when dealing with them. Nice and long so should do the trick.

I now have a collection of dead flies
Should really come with a bag for all the dead flies.Its really good at catching flies ... well to be honest it doesn't do much. I think the flies fly into it.I cant be sure ... I've not really spent much time watching what flies do.But I can confirm many dead flies are stuck

Horrible to use and barely effective
The string part of these are saturated in the disgusting sticky fluid that is meant to be on the paper part. It is near impossible to pull them out without covering your hands in a substance that is very difficult to remove. Whatever you hang them on gets covered and flies aren’t interested at all
